Australia India Business Council | Fostering bi-lateral trade for 28 years
Established in 1986, the Australia India Business Council was founded to foster bilateral relations between the two countries and is the only national body representing bi-lateral trade and investment relations between Australia and India.
The AIBC is a national membership organisation with active branches in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth and Canberra.
The AIBC maintains close relationships with federal and state government agencies, the diplomatic corps and industry bodies, and showcases opportunities to the Australian business community through an active program of events nationally.
AIBC plays a pivotal role in showcasing opportunities to business communities of and for Australian Corporations through an active calendar of events, delegate meets, facilitation of knowledge and resources to ascertain emerging opportunities in India.


The Australian Information Industry Association (AIIA) is the peak representative body and advocacy group for the ICT industry in Australia. The AIIA has for 35 years pursued activities to stimulate and grow the ICT industry, to create a favourable business environment for our members and to contribute to the economic imperatives of our nation. The organisation’s priorities are to grow and develop the ICT industry; drive the digital economy and build industry capability. Our goal is to create a “world class information, communications & technology industry delivering productivity, innovation & leadership for Australia”.
We are proud to represent over 400 member organisations nationally, including global brands such as Apple, Adobe, Avanade, EMC, Deloitte, Gartner, Google, HP, IBM, Infosys, Intel, Microsoft, Oracle and Singtel Optus; international companies including Telstra; and national companies including Ajilon, Data#3, SMS Management and Technology, Technology One and Oakton; and a large number of ICT SMEs. Our national board comprises representatives from hardware, software, and services companies and represents the diversity of our industry.

The Australia India Institute (AII) is a leading centre for the study of India. Through its teaching, research, public policy and outreach programs, it is building Australia’s capacity to understand India. AII is also a hub for dialogue, research and partnerships between India and Australia. Based at the University of Melbourne, the Institute hosts a growing range of programs that are deepening and enriching the relationship between the two countries.
